Nina Dobrev (born Nina Konstantinova Dobreva) was born January 9th, 1989 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She moved to Canada at the age of two, and was raised in Toronto, Ontario. She reprised her role as Mia Jones, the single teenage mother on Degrassi: The Next Generation, from 2006-2010. She currently stars as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on The CW television teen drama The Vampire Diaries. (
